The problem with working for a corporation is that I have signed an NDA. I can’t freely complain about work liked I could when I worked as a wage-slave in the service industry. But man, let me tell you in this post how peeved I am about something so trivial I hate myself for being peeved.
This is the process at the moment for handing a service alarm.
1. Alarm comes in and is reviewed by a remote technician (me).
2. Work Request is created using service tracking system.
3. A screenshot of the current conditions is attached to the work request.
4. The Request is approved and becomes an Order; it is then sent to the contractor.
5. Contractor dispatches on-site technician with information of current conditions.
6. One-site tech checks in with remote tech, completes work, checks out, WO closed, etc, etc.
Previously, screenshots of current conditions were not attached to the Work Requests, so all contractors would email us for screenshots. Since I’ve started attaching screenshots, the majority of the contractors have stopped asking for them via email … except one.
This contractor, for whatever reason, still wants to email us for screenshots. Replying to the latest email, I attached to the email the images I originally attached to the Work Request.
Kenya replies to the email requesting that I put the images embedded in the email, not attachments. She even included a screenshot of her 800×600 computer screen as an example.
I am severely irritated by this. SHE is the fool for not being able to open attachments, not I for not putting them inside the email. I feel so insulted.
She’s now got a couple of JPGs that, should she open them in notepad, politely request her demise by incineration.
