About Harrenhall
Harrenhal doesn’t exist, and most certainly doesn’t exist in the cupboard under the stairs.
HH is named after a castle in the fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. It used to be spelled wrong because we forgot how it was spelled and didn’t bother to correct it. The other computers in the house have been named from the same source material (Pyke, Riverrun, Greywater Watch).
HH was built in May of 2008 as our personal media server. It replaced the Skylark, which served our personal network with videos and music for about four years. It has just under a terabyte of space available, and 38+GB (10K+ files in 800+ folders) of that is music related. Music that we acquired legally, I might add.
You might notice in the links section of the sidebar that there is a link to Harrenhal. You might also inquire about details by email or IM.
